A Fundraiser
for Ayiti

Caribbean Archive and Jollof Films presents “A Folkloric Poetic Journey to Contemporary Africa and the Caribbean.” A film screening, coat drive and fundraising event that provides material resources for recent African and Caribbean immigrant communities in New York City. The event champions African and Caribbean solidarity through a selection of a Trinidadian short film directed by Raven Irabor titled She Island, and the West African feature length film, Ainsi Meurent Les Anges (And So Angels Die) directed by Moussa Sène Absa.

Throughout this first film program we will be collecting coats which will be donated to Families for Freedom and we will raise money for a family in Haiti that has been directly affected by hurricane Melissa. After the film screening there will be a short discussion about the films. The event is free and open to the public. We are dedicated to our communities by providing tangible resources that can aid towards the ease of one's struggle. The organizers of this event are experienced and committed to our connected liberation. More informations about the fundraising campaign here
